The StartUP Macau Forum connects entrepreneurs in China, Portugal and Macau, through a 2-day event with the aim of promoting the development of new startups and entrepreneurship for the three regions and paving capable of fostering and sharing the startup spirit in and between Portugal and China.
Different from typical entrepreneurship events, the StartUP Macau puts a special focus on engaging participants in sharing the startup spirit and fostering new ideas and innovative business solutions.
A total of 19 startup teams, 7 from China, 6 from Portugal and 6 from Macau, are participating in this forum to showcase their entrepreneurial innovation and exchange ideas with their like-minded and ambitious counterparts.

THE PITCH
The first day of the forum will focus on a workshop revolving about business model design, Pitch Deck Preparation and other trainings on the Pitch.
The workshop is oriented by experts in entrepreneurship from the Fábrica de Startups.
The workshop facilitators are Mr. António Lucena de Faria and Mr. Martim Avillez Figueiredo, both of who have extensive experience in orienting similar events in different countries.

DAY 2: PITCHING COMPETITION
October 11th, 2016
On the second day of the forum, the startup teams will be making preparations for their pitches and discussing the main lessons that can be used for the pitches.
On the afternoon, each team will conduct a five-minute presentation in front of an expert jury and quality audience (including VIP guests and investors from China, Portugal, Macau and the other regions).

The Pitching Event is the final and rewarding moment for all the teams involved.
After all participating teams’ pitches, the jury will vote to decide the top 3 teams (one per each region, ranked by jury panel).
All participants will get a certificate issued by Fábrica de Startups and will have valuable opportunities to meet investors for business matching.

PRIZES
Asia Times, MGM Macau and Galaxy Macau sponsor a total amount of USD20,000 cash prize to the top 3 teams.
Turismo de Portugal sponsors a Web Summit (held in Lisboa from 7 to 12 Nov) ticket to each winning team and allowance for flight expenses and other related travel fee.
